In Portland there was a place I was briefly practicing at that had a “Whiskey Kitchen” across the street, Many people liked to go and sit outside and drink across from my window view. Looking to get some notice, I went over to tell them I had raw herbs that could be soaked in the whiskey to make a libido tonic, and that did seem to get their attention!

When I next went to Ashland I returned with a few herbs in their bottles up from my bulk pharmacy.  I brought a couple across the street (ba ji tian and yin yang huo) to show the people at the Whiskey Kitchen, and they did indeed get very wide-eyed and intrigued by the idea. The next step would have been to meet with a certain man at the distillery around the corner. I got some notice anyway.  🙂

I’m really telling this story for entertainment purposes only, as it’s almost the wrong season to be talking about it (though it is a crazy monkey year). These kind of herbs are considered pretty ‘Hot’, as is whiskey, and the combination isn’t something I’m generally recommending to just about anyone. So please don’t refer people to over to my place for a Viagra-like formula – :)> because actually, they don’t really work that way anyway. Rather if someone is colder, more depleted, and perhaps aging without a lot of inflammation and heat-related issues (including perhaps high blood pressure) – its something that can really enhance longevity (and sexuality) in the right circumstances.

I have seen around Ashland herb capsules for sale that have a few of these herbs (in rather low dosages really).  The people selling them claimed to me that the buyers are having wonderful, let’s say ‘stand-up’ and stay up, results from taking a couple of the pills. However, with the ingredients listed and the dosage on the label, there is just no way they are going to do much in that department. It’s either placebo ,which can go a long way with that kind of thing)…or slightly more sinisterly, the formula is from abroad and had some pharmaceutical-like drug added in a small dose.

    So Ken,

What Herbs would be beneficial to the male libido? I do not have the problem of “standing up” as you put it but it is not quite as rigid in the standing position. Maybe something to enhance this? My BP is around 135/80, I am 64 years old, slightly overweight and but in general good health. Thanks for your suggestions.
