CHINESE ASTROLOGY UPDATE by Liu Ming
The Qi Node Cold Dews ends and Frost Descends begins. The jie qi of the 9th moon is not making winter’s approach an easy matter. The only rewards available will be accompanied by setbacks. The weekend is very hard to call.
Mon Oct 21 – 9th moon/17th day Today is near the end of a pretty bad run. If the last week went well you are able to roll with the jie qi quite well. Back to work as usual goes well. Divination is auspicious. If you are disciplined, continue; if you fell off your horse, get back in the saddle. Use your monkey tail when your feet slip. Large Intestine channel is open. Large Intestine 1, 4 and 5 pair up with Lung 7 for some good results, but no miracles.
Tue Oct 22 – 9/18 The bad patch ends when you use a little force. In other words, you very likely have become an accomplice to your own difficulties. It does not require a BIG decision just a simple and well-placed NO. The auspices support medical treatments, prayer, celibacy and sobriety. It is very inauspicious to deny bad habits, throw your good qi after bad and make promises. It is not a matter of law suits or renewed contracts – more like executing known criminals. Do it! Cowardice on a day like this will have grave consequences. The Lung channel is open and partners well with abdominal Kidney points at midday.
Wed Oct 23 – 9/19 Today begins the Qi Node called Frost Descends. Growing annual yin is now dominant but not functional. Caution is key. Everything in planning stages can be honed and refined but the qi for action is unplugged. Postpone anything new and be careful even in ordinary routines. The day is suited to “tidying up”. Haircuts, housecleaning and laundry are auspicious. Consult the oracle and remember winter approaches – slow down. Stems and Branches is Water at 7 – that’s huge and rare. The Bladder channel is open and Bladder points around the ankles (62) and Small Intestine points (3 and 4) around the wrist combine well. It is a good day for the acupuncture treatment of shen disturbance.
Thu Oct 24 – 9/20 Today setbacks are a blessing. Take a rest. It is auspicious to take care of subordinate or lesser issues. It is auspicious for car and tools repair, haircuts (even a make-over) catching up with correspondence and bank deposits. Make no important decisions concerning wealth or business and keep your knickers on for sure. The chances of an emotion breakdown are high so try to keep calm and carry on – if you wish to remain on the throne. Polish your accomplishments and do not seek more. Kidney channel is open today. Abdominal Kidney points (16) go well with Lung 7. Standard treatments and patented medicines work well.
Fri Oct 25 – 9/21 The qi of the day provides opportunity to make progress in unconventional ways. It is auspicious for quitting your job, divorce and seeking aid from the dead (ancestors). What seems like loss is actually gain. Canceling and/or postponing appointments will protect you from mishap. The day has conflicting indicators best resolved through divination. Stay out of the wilderness and cemeteries, unless you are a siddha. Gallbladder channel is open (GB41 is a jie qi favorite from 9am-6pm).
Sat Oct 26 – 9/22 From time to time sudden windows of opportunity appear astrologically. If you are prepared and clear headed you may make decisive and sudden moves forward. This day is more suited to sudden enlightenment that sudden financial or romantic success. An hour on a zafu could clear away a ton of karma. You may find gems when you are feeling around in the dark. Liver channel being open helps. Go to bed early.
Ninth Moon of 2013 WATER DOG Month or “Family Dog” Month
The Water Dogs moon requires frugality but a frugality geared towards generosity towards others. This moon likes to stay home and be close to family and friends and offer them hospitality. It is however a moon that invites poor judgment when it comes to personal safety and caution should be taken around the use of metal tools and weapons. Accidents will be common and chronic conditions deepen.
